Who does the MPHP serve? |
The MPHP currently contracts with various Licensing Boards to serve physicians, physician assistants, and licensed nurses (and CRNA's & LPN's). Including residents and students of these professions. |
Who can make a referral and can I refer someone anonymously?

Anyone can contact the MPHP to make a referral. We have received referrals in the past from colleagues, supervisors, family members, patients, licensing boards and healthcare providers. These referrals may be anonymous. For information, or to make a referral, call the MPHP at (207) 623-9266.

If I am receiving assistance from the MPHP, is my participation shared with my licensing board?
|
No, the MPHP is operated independently of the Maine licensing boards. The MPHP does not share participation information with the board unless there are legal, licensure or compliance issues that prompt mandated reporting requirements. The MPHP operates in compliance with state and federal laws and within protocols agreed to by MPHP and the boards of licensure.

What is the cost of the initial MPHP consultation?
|
There is no cost for contacting the MPHP or for the intake appointment and assessment unless the profession is outside of our contracted network (see above). During the intake, an MPHP case coordinator will discuss your reasons for referral, medical and clinical history, examine potential risk factors, and answer any questions you have. The MPHP will provide you with a list of resources and next steps.

What does it cost to participate in MPHP?
|
The cost to participate in the MPHP varies, depending on diagnosis, treatment, continuing care requirements, and health insurance coverage. The MPHP does not provide or cover these services. Additionally, participants may be required to submit to random toxicology testing.
There is a participation fee that is charged on a sliding scale depending on profession, financial means, employment status. A fee reduction may be granted if deemed financially necessary. |
